Programa Cultural

The programme Gerês Cultural fits into a full-boarding scheme, with overnight stays in the camping Bungalows. This programme may involve photography, painting or sculpture. We will provide you with the best wines, our cod and the wonderfully tasty meat from this region.

The programme Cultural - Photography aims at providing entertainment, developing the capacity of observation and imagination, while learning simple photography techniques. Fieldwork is divided into two parts. On Saturday we will visit some hidden places/people of Gerês, where people, culture and their knowledge are the photographic focus for the participants. These are key points for who wants to keep contact with the local culture and register it, grasping an exercise on culture and photography altogether. On Sunday we will explore hidden places within the landscape, offering an extraordinarily rich diversity of colours and environments, unique in the country. Flora, fauna and local geology, within the surrounding fields, will be the points of interest in this fieldwork phase.

Along the exploration, the participants will be guided through the photographic process, concerning composition, use of available light, as well as ways and methods of photographing to make the most of creativity and art, facing new situations. The effort and time for journeys to places is reduced, to focus on the observation of cultures and of the photographic activity.
